Stepping into September

Write It To Release It

Ahh September. If September had a smell, for me it would be sharpened pencils. If it had a color, Green. Signifying Preparation for growth. Readying our tools to step back into a time of learning. As children, teenagers and for some of us, young adults,

september is synonymous with going back to school. As adults we can hold and honor this tradition by asking ourselves, What in my life is out of balance? Where can I enter routine to enact growth and stability?

We are exiting summer, a time of socializing and increased play. A time of year that encourages ease.  The internal desire to grow, and expand is mirrored in the lush green landscape as it reaches its peak before release.

How can we take the lessons we have cultivated over the summer and transform them into action this fall? What old patterns are getting in the way of your natural flow?

September Prompt:

Write and Release. I invite you to sit and journal in response to the three following questions.

** Note it is important to consider your environment when journaling. What environment makes you feel the most alive? Is it at a coffee shop surrounded by people, smells,  and sounds? Or is it in solitude at home with gentle music and a candle? Always take time to create sacred space for the ritual of journaling. **

Take three deep breaths to ground and begin.

What aspects of my life need sharpening?

What growth have I witnessed in myself this summer?

In what areas do I need to enact release?
